Vein Testing

Venous Ultrasound

Vascular surgeon, Dr. Alissa Brotman O’Neill treats venous disease and varicose veins.  A varicose vein doctor will sometimes order an ultrasound to diagnose the ‘vein problem.’ A venous Doppler is an ultrasound used to see the veins through the body to determine the cause of varicosities and pain and heaviness of the legs.  The ultrasound can detect blood clots, vessel narrowing, reflux and masses.  The ultrasound is a safe and painless procedure that takes less than 30 minutes to perform. Vein and Wellness Center of NJ provides an accredited vascular laboratory.

Our physicians have received additional training in ultrasound technology, specifically vascular ultrasound.   The physicians at the Vein and Wellness Center of NJ as well as Highland Park Surgical are invested in providing state of the art technology right at their facility.  The ultrasounds are performed on site and interpreted by our highly trained physicians.

The ultrasound is a noninvasive, safe and easy diagnostic tool to guide the physician to make an appropriate plan of care.
